What not to do after Dermaplaning?

If you have recently received a dermaplaning treatment, there are a few important things to keep in mind to get the best results.

First, avoid using harsh exfoliating products on treated skin for about two weeks after treatment. This includes all products with salicylic acid or any other products that are indicated for anti-aging skin care. These products can irritate the most sensitive skin and therefore reduce the results you wish to achieve.

Secondly, it is crucial to keep the skin hydrated. Once you have completed the treatment, apply a nourishing cream to ensure that the skin receives the necessary nutrients. This cream should contain gentle ingredients such as shea butter or jojoba oil to soothe the skin.

It is also advisable to protect yourself from the sun during this period. Apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher and avoid direct UV rays from the sun to ensure skin protection.

Finally, avoid shaving during the period after dermaplaning. If you have been struggling with facial hair after treatment, it is best to use a depilatory cream to achieve the best results.

We invite you to learn more about this and other treatments at our spa, call us now at 312-841-9750 and request your appointment.
